About the Artist

Sally Spens trained at Goldsmiths’ College in the late 70’s following a textile/fine art degree course, before working in the applied art of textile design. With a background in fashion and interiors Sally has an artisan’s approach to painting and printmaking.

Her paintings and prints have been made in parallel to the design work that Sally produces with Kim Bentley in design partnership Bentley & Spens. Now based in London and Cornwall, they collaborate on specific design projects. From 2000 – 2007 this has included designing collections of prints for yukata ( summer kimonos) for an old established Japanese company : Kawashima
