ARTIST PROFILE

Liz Hough

Liz Hough is a Cornish artist, best known for colourful abstract oil paintings of the area around St. Ives. She first came to attention through success in the Royal Academy Premiums Exhibitions and has been awarded the Daler Rowney Prize and the Creswick Prize for Landscape Painting in Oils.

Her art focuses on finding the essence of her surroundings, what she calls ‘the bones’ of the landscape. Resonant with colour and memory, her vibrant canvases respond to the work of the Cornish poets and artists she admires, including Frances Bellerby and Patrick Heron.

Liz is currently focused on making work for annual reviews curated through chosen galleries, most recently, in November 2022, with Fine Art Consultancy, London.
