SARAH WATSON’S passion is painting the natural landscape—the wilder and more dramatic, the better. Before the pandemic she was committed to painting En Plein Air: living, breathing, and immersing herself in each place. Lockdown forced a shift; working from her own photographs revealed fresh palettes, seasons, and compositional angles. It also let her explore finer textures and details in the warmth of her studio.
Her new method took her to Cornwall in 2022 and Iceland later that year, inspiring her second solo exhibition at Gallery 6. She has since painted Snowdonia, creating large, lushly textured oils that often bear the trails of her own hands and nails. These works are now touring with London’s Fine Art Consultancy.
Sarah has exhibited in four solo shows, is represented by Gallery 6 and Fine Art Consultancy, and appeared on Landscape Artist of the Year (2016). A member of the Lincolnshire Artists’ Society since 2019, she was born in Oakham in 1972 and studied Abstract Painting at De Montfort University. After a career in the music industry, she devoted herself fully to painting in Lincolnshire.
